Pluto - just a pup?

>"Tenth Planet" Larger Than Pluto, Study Confirms
>Stefan Lovgren
>for National Geographic News
>February 1, 2006
>Scientists have measured the size of a solar system object discovered
>last year and confirmed that it is larger than Pluto.
>The icy object, called 2003 UB313, is located in the far reaches of
>the solar system. It measures 1,900 miles (3,000 kilometers) in
>diameter. Pluto, by contrast, measures 1,400 miles (2,300 kilometers).
>The finding has fueled the debate over what constitutes a planet.
>Pluto is traditionally considered the ninth planet in our solar system
>(see interactive map).
>Some scientists argue that 2003 UB313 should now be considered the
>tenth planet of our solar system. Others say Pluto's status as a
>planet should be reconsidered.
>"Since UB313 is decidedly larger than Pluto, it is now increasingly
>hard to justify calling Pluto a planet if UB313 is not also given this
>status," said Frank Bertoldi, an astronomer at the University of Bonn
>and Max Planck Institute for Radioastronomy in Germany.
>Bertoldi led the study, which will be reported in tomorrow's issue of
>the journal Nature.

Valentine's Day this year marks a very special celebration due to the numerology represented by the year itself; 2006. This is an "8" year, marking a definite beginning and ending to affairs of the heart, no more beating around the bush, it's either on or off the dilly dally is over. Have no fear. Pluto is there to help you through this uncharted territory, of course. As the natural ruler of the 8th house, Pluto takes hold globally, we are sure to see some significant and life altering changes that will indeed have a major and favorable effect on our economy. Remember, the 8th house rules other people's money and how that affects your life will be seen this year, more so than all the years since the beginning of this century. And because this is an "8" year, individually you will notice a more abundant personal and partnership cashflow. The 8th house also rules spousal income and becomes especially potent after Venus goes direct on February 3rd. A grand partnership celebration of blessed finances, as a whole, will be realized by most couples this year -- a mutually good time to invest wisely in your partnership and financial future.

Actually, Pluto transits my 10th house, Neptune my 8th; so, geez, this Astro.Daija talks a lot of astrological tripe ;-P

If the new 'planet' is given a 'normal' name, rather than just a 'classification', I wonder what it will be called ? Any suggestions, Claire ? Arachne, perhaps ?

Good news about 'Pluto taking hold globally', if it means 'blessed finances for most couples'.

It should definitely have a goddess, rather than a god, name... Do you realise we so far only have one 'goddess', in our solar system, Venus? I rather fancied the first proposal of 'Sedna', Inuit goddess of the sea (which would nicely complement Pluto as ruler of the watery Scorpio underworld); then again, how about the peculiarly wyrd suggestion of Eris, goddess of chaos? ;-))

I think you have to look at where it transits your own chart, to see where you would feel its influence, e.g. I discovered it to transit my 10th... not at all a 'couple'-type house, even! (Which = what I meant by her speaking 'global astro-tripe'! lol

Speaking about Valentine's Day: I have two words to say ... bah humbug!

I have never in my life made the grade as someone's Valentine (never a card or a flower or a hug). No joke.

My two husbands both despised such occasions as "commercial" ... but as it turned out, they did not like birthdays either, so I never did well in that department either.

Yep, bah, humbug, to Valentine's day from moi aussi, Su (although I did manage to get one cute, if utterly deranged poem from B-E on that day, once!)... Hope you enjoyed seeing where your 'Pluto, just a pup?' ended up... It kind of also goes with the next post, with the picture pinched from Ken's blog, doesn't it? ;-))

Actually, speaking of numerology, I wonder what it means that I get an "8" number on my membership card of the Association of Tarot Studies, in this "8" year? Hopefully Marie Rose's reading (with her wicked little deck of French cartomancy cards, the ancestor of Titania's Fortune Cards) will reveal all? ;-P

As per Helvetica on Aeclectic Tarot: "8 - the number of cosmic balance, double 4 - that is, stability in motion. Can get clogged down, or signify action. Perfect balance (as opposed to the unstable balance of the 2), which leads to efficient deployment of forces - or their total seizing-up! Also Hod, Glory, Splendour, Surrender (interesting association between splendour, efficiency and surrender!)" ;-))
