Probably nothing! I suspect that the deck meanings are specific to Lovecraft's writings, just as much of the New Orleans Voodoo is specific to Voudon. On the other hand ... I could be completely wrong LOL!
Only kidding...I did not of course mean a direct connection, but weird how the same card can give rise to such completely different renderings. Had a flash of the 'traditional' (RW!) High Priestess today, when having to learn at least a bit of our photographer Robyn's digital expertise (in an afternoon!) to get photos of me expedited to Norway: for some strange reason, one of them, with a pillar behind, got reversed, and put the pillar on the other side to the other one, so...the High Priestess (x2!) now in between the legendary two pillars...? lol
Claire,I have no idea who Marie Laveau is, but I'm glad that at least Mythos had something sensible to say.And I'd love to have a look at the photo that you had taken, if you can post it to your blog.Love,SebiXXX
Marie Laveau = the original Voodoo High Priestess (of New Orleans, and no, I don't have the photo any more: it has gone to Norway! lol
