And has anyone noticed that today's Tarot, the Empress from the Phoenix Tarot, appears as the Woman of the Apocalypse, "clothed with the sun, standing on the moon and crowned with twelve stars" (Rev. 12:1)? i.e. The Woman of the Apocalypse represents not so much Mary (as Catholics think) as New Age feminist awareness, the rising of the Goddess, that prefigures the end times (of patriarchy). This seems indeed "the end of the world as we know it", but as the symbol of the power and fertility/creativity of femininity, i.e. matriarchy, remember she carries the seed of a new god in her womb, even though a dragon also waits to devour him, and pursue them both. Puts a new spin on the Book of Revelation, eh? Here endeth the Sunday sermon ;-)) Posted by Hello

Very interesting. And just today I googled the libretto of one of the arias from "The Pearlfishers" - "Au Fond Du Temple Saint". It's an ode to the Goddess. I'm sure you'd love it. "Oui, c'est elle ! C'est la deesse"
